CBC Ottawa Morning – with co-directors Nancy Lang and Peter Raymont

Co-directors of the documentary Margaret Atwood: A Word After a Word After a Word is Power, Nancy Lang and Peter Raymont spoke with CBC’s Ottawa Morning host Robyn Bresnahan about the making of the film, the significance of Ottawa (where Atwood was born), her early life, The Testaments, The Handmaid’s Tale (which she says is based on the male faculty at Harvard), and the love story between Margaret Atwood and Graeme Gibson, who passed away in September. Gibson openly talked about his dementia in the documentary. Lang and Raymont are honoured that they got to spend the last year of Gibson’s life traveling with him and Margaret around the world.

Margaret Atwood: A Word After a Word After a Word is Power is screening tonight Wednesday, November 13th, 2019 at ByTowne Cinema (325 Rideau Street) at 6:30pm. There will be a post-screening Q&A with the co-directors. Advance tickets are $12 and are available on Eventbrite or at the door.
