Pixie Cram
One World Film Festival Program Manager

Pixie has been involved in film and media art in Ottawa for more than 12 years. She is an artist, administrator, and teacher. Pixie teaches filmmaking and video production workshops to adults, youth and children. She is a member of the Windows Collective, a group of Ottawa artists who create public outdoor installations using the medium of film. Her films and videos range in format from stop-motion animation, to fiction and documentary. Her work has shown at festivals across Canada, in the United States, Eastern Europe and Russia. Pixie works part-time at SAW Video as Workshop Coordinator. This is also her second year as Program Manager of the One World Film Festival.
Micheline Shoebridge
Awesome Arts Program and Festival Manager

Micheline has been working in the arts and culture sector for more than 15 years.
She has worked as Event and Program Manager for a variety of organizations. Since 2010 Micheline has managed the One World Awesome Arts Program and Festival for children and youth which aims to raises the awareness of global issues through the arts. Micheline also works at MASC as the Seniors Program Coordinator and has taught in Algonquin College's Documentary Program. She was Manager of the One World Film Festival in 2009.
Fully bilingual, Micheline has also worked as producer and production manager on documentaries, dramatic series, short films, music videos and commercials. Her most recent project, a theatrical documentary set in Tajikistan called Buzkashi! premiered at the Hot Docs Film Festival in May 2012.
Micheline also sits on the board of Créations In Vivo, an award-winning French Theatre company.

Board of directors
As a “working board”, this group is involved in every dimension of One World Arts operations - program development, event production, fundraising, non-profit governance, communications and promotions, and building partnerships with other local organizations. With a range of skills and experiences in both the international development and arts worlds, One World Arts’ Board of Directors brings a clear vision and plenty of capacity to turn it into reality, and has lots of fun working together.

Carolyn Elliott-Magwood

Carolyn joined the One World Arts Board in the fall of 2009. As a former student of English and theatre (Wilfrid Laurier University) and law, with a focus on international and public law (University of Ottawa), she is excited to be involved in an organization that marries her interests in the arts and global social justice. Carolyn currently works in the International Legal Programs Section of the Department of Justice. She has previous Board experience at Ecclesiax Church. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, photography, and quilting.
Carol Ann Pilon

Carol Ann has worked in the television and film industry since 1992. She holds an Honours BA with Specialization in Communication from the University of Ottawa. In 2000, she directed her first documentary film for television. Since then, Carol Ann has directed over 70 programs for the French-Canadian television industry. These have been broadcast on SRC, TFO, TV5, Canal vie and Bravo.
Geneviève Gazaille

Geneviève has been working in communications for several years, in the public and non-profit sectors and in different capacities, doing media relations, event organizing, government relations, and many more. She currently works for an Ottawa-based international development NGO, after spending three years in the newspapers industry. It is during her university studies that grew her interest for social justice, human rights and environmental issues, which brought her a few years later to become involved with One World Arts when she moved to Ottawa and discovered the film festival. Geneviève holds an MA in International Studies and a BA in communication & political science from Université de Montréal.
Sameer Mawji

Sameer holds a master's degree in economics and currently works in the Economics and Fiscal Policy Branch of the Department of Finance of the Government of Canada. After graduating from McMaster University, Sameer joined the Social Policy Branch of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC), conducting research which focused on the relationship between socioeconomic factors and labour market outcomes. As a member of the One World Arts Board, Sameer focuses on the issues of governance and sustainability.
Andrea Young

After receiving her BA from Concordia University in Journalism, Andrea has delved in various media-related professional endeavors, working as a reporter, copy editor, and technical writer, whilst writing for numerous publications including The Montreal Gazette. She has worked in communications and media relations for over three years in Ottawa for the Canadian Federal Government and continues to explore her interests in humanitarian organizations and international development through her volunteer work with organizations such as the Canadian Red Cross.
Caroline John

Caroline joined the OWA Board in 2011 and is mainly involved in the management of volunteers and community outreach. Her interests are sustainability, theatre and other arts, and vibrant communities. She is passionate to find means of increasing civic engagement and social capital in our communities. She has a BSc and is also working on a degree in communications and public awareness. All her spare time goes to dance, cooking and daydreaming.
Noreen Majeed

Noreen joined the Board of One World Arts in 2011 and prior to that volunteered her time with the One World Arts Film Festival. As a student at McGill University in Montreal, she was actively involved with several local projects that promoted social justice including Teesri Duniya Theatre and a series of community radio shows. While at l’Université de Sherbrooke, she co-founded the ProBono Students Canada chapter at the Faculty of Law in hopes of promoting awareness and community support on the issue of access to justice for the locally marginalized. After working abroad with the International Committee of the Red Cross, Noreen returned to Ottawa and is currently a Legal Advisor at the Immigration and Refugee Board. In her spare time, she enjoys biking and photography.
Rhiana Chinapen

Current chair of One World Arts, Rhiana has over 10 years experience in community engagement and education on global issues. As a student, Rhiana participated in awareness-raising initiatives through organizations such as Canadian Red Cross, Ottawa V-Day, and Oxfam. She has written on the role of truth commissions and the media in building more just and democratic societies. A globe-trotter at heart, Rhiana returned to Ottawa in 2011 and became involved with the One World Film Festival. The contagious enthusiasm and passionate dedication of fellow OWA volunteers persuaded her to stick around. Rhiana holds a BA in International Relations and Political Science and an MA in Communication. She enjoys biking, ginga-ing, reading and writing.
