New Film Book by One World Arts President Gerry Schmitz Now Available

One World Arts President, Gerry Schmitz, is a film critic and longtime contributor to Saskatchewan’s The Prairie Messenger’s “Screenings & Meanings” column.

His new book, The Best of Screenings & Meanings: A Journey through Film, is an anthology which draws from 35 years of film comments along with new material. The book also includes Schmitz’s top picks for films of the year in all categories covering the two decades from 1997-2017. Have a look at the Table of Contents and Introduction, and check out the appendix here.

The Best of Screenings & Meanings can be ordered directly online from the author page of the publishers McNally Robinson here for only $29.95. This is an excellent source covering films from Canadian and international film festivals. (It’s also a wonderful gift for all those interested in film history, criticism and students studying film).

For more information see the book’s website.

Gerry also maintains an ongoing film blog.

Congratulations to Gerry for all his successful accomplishments!
