The countdown to the 28th Annual One World Film Festival is on!

Ottawa’s longest running documentary film festival kicks off its annual film festival screenings of thought-provoking Canadian and international documentaries on global issues with an evening focused on environmental justice and stories of people standing up for their rights Thursday, September 28th at Saint Paul University in Ottawa.

Opening night screenings of Water Warriors (Michael Premo), The Three Sisters Community Garden (Zachary Greenleaf) and Freedom Drum (Monica Virtue), and a panel discussion with special guests Norman Matchewan and Ben Powless, will be presented in partnership with Inter Pares and Amnesty International Canada starting at 6:30PM.

Screenings of Fixed! (Cat Mills) and Tomorrow (Mélanie Laurent and Cyril Dion) will follow at 8:15PM. Make sure to arrive early, however, to visit the One World Film Festival Fair, located in room 1130, to interact with and engage with our community partners and find out more about how you can get involved in taking action on the issues explored in the festival’s docs and talks.

Tickets and festival passes can be purchased online and all screenings and talks will take place in the Amphitheatre at Saint-Paul University (233 Main Street) in Ottawa.
