Hip Hop Dance (12-17 year olds)

Letting off steam and getting in shape, these participants will learn about the culture that has swept the globe. This very popular and flexible art form brings people together from many different cultures. Workshops led by Ben Jammin.

Ben Jammin was also our fabulous DJ for the Festival - what a great job, thanks Ben Jammin!

Slam Poetry (12-17 year olds)
The youth will explore global issues through the creation of spoken word poetry, an art form that is exploding across the country and the world. These workshops were led by Ian Keteku.

Graffiti Art (12-17 year olds)
An extremely expressive art form, graffiti art is a wonderful way for youth to explore issues. Taught by graffiti art professionals from Ottawa Urban Arts, the participants explored global issues and created art pieces based on issues important to them.

Arts & Crafts (9-11 year olds)
Each week participants are exposed to a global issue, an organization working with this issue and an area of the world. Through fun games and information sessions, the participants developed a much greater understanding of the world we live in. Creating beautiful arts and crafts topped off the activities. The proceeds from the sale of the arts and crafts will allow the participants to contribute to the solutions that One World Awesome Arts partner organizations are working towards.

Animation Videos (9-11 year olds)

Taking the issues that they learned about through the Awesome Arts program, these children have created some great short animated films.

Animation Videos (6-11 years old)
Lights, camera, action! The participants created short animation videos based on the global issues. Led by Tina Le Moine.

Animation Videos (6-8 year olds)
After working hard, creating stories, characters and learning how to make stop-action movies, these talented children are ready to show off their films!
